Daily Table response to COVID-19

We are working hard to keep our employees safe, our stores clean, and our communities nourished with affordable food.

As a mission-driven grocery store, we want to be sure we can always provide healthy and affordable groceries to our communities, particularly in this time of need and the threat of COVID-19. We know that for many of you, access to affordable, healthy food every day is more important now than ever.  With that in mind, we have taken a number of actions to protect the health of our employees and customers:

We are still operating with normal hours (Mon-Sat: 9am-8pm; Sun 11am-7pm) and will continue to offer healthy, affordable food and SNAP-eligible prepared foods. Given the changing nature of this crisis, our hours may be subject to change but will be updated on Google, Facebook and our website. 

Enhanced cleaning practices – Our team has enhanced and intensified our regular cleaning practices. We are on a regular schedule of sanitizing all frequently touched services, including cash registers, credit card machines, door handles and shopping carts. 

Focus on hygiene – We are constantly reminding all team members and posting signage for customers to practice good hygiene, including constant hand washing, keeping adequate space from others and to cover coughs and sneezes with your arm/elbow.

Additional Sick Time for Team Members – We have implemented a policy providing for additional paid sick leave for employees that exhibit any symptoms that could be related to COVID-19 to better support employees to make the right decision for their health and the health of our customers and communities.

To support our staff during this crisis, we’ve supplemented hourly pay by $2/hr for all of our 40+ retail, kitchen and driver employees for the upcoming weeks. We want to support our team under increased levels of stress and with additional childcare costs and other expenses that may be piling up at this time.

Stay current on best practices – We are closely following all recommendations from the Center for Disease Control, the City of Boston and the State of Massachusetts and acting on their recommendations.

Communication – We are in frequent communication with our kitchen and store teams to provide updates as necessary and we will continue to update our customers and communities should there be any change to our regular operations.

We are committed to continuing to serve our customers during this national emergency while doing everything we can to protect the health of our employees and community.
