In his 31 years with Trader Joe’s, the last 14 years as a president, Doug played a pivotal role in its growth from a small retail chain in Southern California, to a nationally acclaimed retail success story. He developed their prized buying philosophy, created their unique private label program, and championed their wildly successful culture of outstanding customer experience. After retiring from Trader Joe’s in 2008, Doug was a Fellow at Harvard’s Advanced Leadership Initiative, where the ideas for Daily Table were first hatched. Doug is also CEO of Conscious Capitalism. As President of Daily Table, Doug will work to ensure that its strategy is executed in line with its mission.
Michael has 12 years of experience managing operations with large and small including Amazon and has led expansion planning and financial/store operations. He leads Daily Table’s store expansion, store operations, the creation of in-house controls and procedures and manages the administrative office.
Carolyn has 10 years of experience in working with both small and large non-profits in Massachusetts including the Salvation Army. She leads Daily Table’s community outreach, volunteer engagement program, and funder relations.
Ismail was most recently the Executive Chef of The Gleanery, a community supported restaurant he co-founded in Putney, Vermont specializing in the transformation of surplus crops and seconds into inspired menu items. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and now calls Boston his home. Ismail will use his many culinary and business talents to bring affordable nutrition to the communities of Boston.
