In his 31 years with Trader Joe’s, the last 14 years as a president, Doug played a pivotal role in its growth from a small retail chain in Southern California, to a nationally acclaimed retail success story. He developed their prized buying philosophy, created their unique private label program, and championed their wildly successful culture of outstanding customer experience. After retiring from Trader Joe’s in 2008, Doug was a Fellow at Harvard’s Advanced Leadership Initiative, where the ideas for Daily Table were first hatched. Doug is also CEO of Conscious Capitalism. As President of Daily Table, Doug will work to ensure that its strategy is executed in line with its mission.
Fredi is the former SVP of Corporate Relations at BCBSMA, where she spent over 20 years and played a key role in the senior leadership team and with a number of not-for-profit community organizations. Fredi will be leading Daily Table’s efforts in community relations, volunteer services, communications, and funder relations.
Ismail was most recently the Executive Chef of The Gleanery, a community supported restaurant he co-founded in Putney, Vermont specializing in the transformation of surplus crops and seconds into inspired menu items. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and now calls Boston his home. Ismail will use his many culinary and business talents to bring affordable nutrition to the communities of Boston.
